Underground is an unloaded keyword appearing on sites. It typically boosts the Dwarven, Moria and Orc cultures.

Great Chasm (2U118) Site Site Underground. The twilight cost of the first archer played each Shadow phase is -2.

The Bridge of Khazad-dûm (12U186) Site Site Battleground. Underground. The Balrog is twilight cost –3.
Abandoned Mine Shaft (13U185) Site Site Underground. If this site is not in region 1 when the fellowship moves from here during the regroup phase, add a burden.
Caves of Aglarond (13S186) Site Site Underground. When the fellowship moves to this site during the regroup phase, the Free Peoples player may remove 2 burdens.
Breeding pit of Isengard (15S188) Site Site Underground. The twilight cost of the first hunter minion played each Shadow phase is –2.
Mount Doom (15R193) Site Site Battleground. Mountain. Underground. Until the end of the game, sites in this region cannot be replaced.

Gimli, Dwarf of the Mountain-race (2P121) Dwarven Companion • Dwarf Damage +1.

Each underground site's Shadow number is -2.

Farin, Emissary of Erebor (11C7) Dwarven Companion • Dwarf While Farin is at a battleground or underground site, he gains muster. (At the start of the regroup phase, you may discard a card from hand to draw a card.)
His Father’s Charge (12C8) Dwarven Condition • Support Area Skirmish: Discard this condition to make a Dwarf strength +1 for each of the following that is true: he is at a mountain or underground site; he has resistance 3 or more; he is bearing a possession; he is skirmishing a fierce minion.
Subterranean Homestead (13R8) Dwarven Condition • Support Area To play, exert 2 Dwarves.

When you play this, add a token here for each mountain site and each underground site on the adventure path.

Skirmish: Discard this from play or remove 2 tokens from here to make a Shadow player discard the top card of his or her draw deck.

Asfaloth (1U31) Elven Possession • Mount Bearer must be an Elf. When played on Arwen, Asfaloth’s twilight cost is -2. While at a plains site, bearer is strength +2. Discard Asfaloth when at an underground site.
Taking the High Ground (12U24) Elven Condition • Support Area Toil 1. (For each character you exert when playing this, its twilight cost is –1.)

Archery: Discard an character from hand to make the fellowship archery total +1.

Each time the fellowship moves from an underground site, return your Elf to your hand.

Speak “Friend” and Enter (2C26) Gandalf Event Fellowship or Regroup: Spot Gandalf to play the fellowship's next site (replacing opponent’s site if necessary).

With Doom We Come (12U36) Gandalf Condition • Support Area While Gandalf is at an underground site, he gains muster. (At the start of the regroup phase, you may discard a card from hand to draw a card.)

While the fellowship is at a battleground site, each character gains muster.

Bill the Pony (3U106) Shire Possession Bearer must be a Hobbit companion.

Slippery as Fishes (9R+29) Gollum Condition • Support Area While Gollum is at a mountain, river, or underground site, he is strength +2.

Not Alone (12U39) Gollum Condition • Support Area Each time the fellowship moves to a mountain or underground site, you may discard a event from hand to take a minion from your discard pile into hand.
Goblin Man (2C42) Isengard Minion • Orc Discard this minion if underground.

Shadow: Exert this minion to look at the Free Peoples player’s hand.

Cave Troll of Moria, Scourge of the Black Pit (1R165) Moria Minion • Troll Damage +1. Fierce. To play, spot a Orc.

At an underground site, Cave Troll of Moria’s twilight cost is -3.

Goblin Wallcrawler (1C184) Moria Minion • Orc While at an underground site, this minion is strength +2.

While you can spot another Orc, the fellowship archery total is -1.

The Balrog, Durin's Bane (2C51) Moria Minion • Balrog Damage +1. Fierce.

Underdeeps Denizen (13C119) Orc Minion • Orc While this minion is at an underground site, it cannot take wounds.
Unforgiving Depths (13C120) Orc Condition • Support Area While you can spot 3 underground sites, each Orc gains muster.

Black Steed (1R208) Ringwraith Possession • Mount Bearer must be a Nazgûl.

While at a plains site, bearer is strength +2. Discard this possession when at an underground site.

When you play this, choose one of the following keywords: battleground, mountain, plains, or underground. The fellowship’s current site gains that keyword until the end of the turn.

Gollum, Small Slimy Creature (31B120) Gollum Minion Each time Gollum wins a skirmish, you may add a doubt. Assignment: If Gollum is not roaming, exert Gollum and assign him to Bilbo to make Gollum strength +1 (or +3 at an underground site) until the regroup phase.
Watchful Orc (30S41) File:Culture Gundabad.svg Gundabad Minion • Orc When you play this minion, you may play the fellowship's next site (replacing opponent's site if necessary).
