Beatdown is an informal game term. Beatdown is a Shadow strategy of playing minions with high strength, often supplemented with Fierce or Damage effects. Beatdown decks aim to win skirmishes, wounding and overwhelming companions until the Fellowship can no longer protect the Ring-bearer. Shadow cultures that often use beatdown strategies include Isengard, Wraith, Sauron, Orc, and Uruk-hai.
Other Shadow strategies include archery, corruption, direct wounding, and swarm.
