Support Area Class

Support Area is an item class for Artifacts and Possessions that is shorthand for "Plays to your support area". This class was introduced in The Two Towers, and cards before that point simply included the full text in the card's game text.

Conditions can also contain a Support Area subtype as a shorthand for the play target text, but strictly speaking this is not an Item Class.

	Galadriel's Silver Ewer (18R11)	Elven	Artifact • Support Area	To play, spot Galadriel or Celeborn. While Galadriel is the Ring-bearer, she is strength +2 and resistance +2. Each time you play an skirmish event, you may reinforce an token.

	Catapult (8R32)	Gondor	Possession • Support Area	To play, spot 2 knights. Maneuver: Discard 2 cards from hand to reveal the top card of an opponent’s draw deck. Choose an opponent who must discard a Shadow card that has a twilight cost that is the same as the twilight cost of the revealed card.
	Sapling of the White Tree (9R35)	Gondor	Artifact • Support Area	To play, spot an unbound Man. Response: If a Man is about to take a wound, discard this artifact to prevent that.
	Scroll of Isildur (9R36)	Gondor	Artifact • Support Area	Tale. To play, spot a Man. The Ring-bearer is resistance +1 for each artifact you can spot (limit +3). Fellowship: Discard this artifact to play a ring from your discard pile.
	Seeing Stone of Minas Anor (9R37)	Gondor	Artifact • Support Area	To play, spot a Man with 3 or more vitality (or spot a Man and add 2 threats). Regroup: Exert a Man or discard this artifact to discard your hand and draw 3 cards.

	Gilraen's Memorial (V1_22)	Gondor	Artifact • Support Area	To play, exert Aragorn. When Aragorn is killed, discard this artifact. Fellowship: Exert a companion with the Aragorn signet to remove a burden. Then exert Aragorn or discard this artifact.
	The Red Arrow (9R46)	Rohan	Artifact • Support Area	Assignment: Exert a Man to play a Man. You may exert that Man to play a possession on him or her. Discard this artifact.

	Tom Bombadil's Hat (0P60)	Shire	Possession • Support Area	To play, spot 2 companions. Each time a Shadow card adds a burden or a threat, add a token here. Fellowship: Remove 2 tokens from here to remove a burden.

	Spider Poison (8C28)	Gollum	Possession • Support Area	Skirmish: Remove a threat or a burden to transfer this possession to a companion skirmishing Shelob. Each time bearer is assigned to a skirmish, bearer must exert.
	Web (8C30)	Gollum	Possession • Support Area	Regroup: If there are fewer than 3 cards stacked here, spot your Orc or minion to stack that minion here. Shadow: Play a minion stacked here as if played from hand.

	Throne of the Dark Lord (17R105)	Sauron	Artifact • Support Area	To play, spot 2 minions. While you can spot Sauron, each other minion is damage +1. While the fellowship is in the same region as Mount Doom, each companion is resistance -2.
	Vile Pit (17C118)	Uruk-hai	Possession • Support Area	To play, spot an hunter. At the start of each Shadow phase, you may discard 2 cards from hand to play an hunter from your discard pile. Regroup: Discard this condition to return an hunter from play to your hand.
	Emeralds of Girion (31HD3)	Dwarven	Artifact • Support Area	Fellowship: Add [1] to take a card stacked here into hand. Regroup: Exert an [Elven] ally to stack an [Elven] event (or Lore of Imladris) from your discard pile on Emeralds of Girion.
	Great Barricade (31HE4)	Dwarven	Possession • Support Area	Fortification. To play, exert a [Dwarven] companion. If the fellowship moves during the regroup phase, discard this possession. At sites 7 and 8, each minion skirmishing a [Dwarven] companion is strength -3.
