Strategy[edit]

Great splash companion.

Do not use him thinking he will be the hero of your deck. There are other Aragorns for that. Ranger of the North is best for one thing, speed bump. No support cards, no events, just play him and when your ringbearer is feeling the weight of minions closing in around him, exert Ranger of the North three times to make him defender +3. He won't live, but Lord of the Rings is a game about sacrifice.

Strengths and Weaknesses[edit]

Strong Versus...[edit]

  • Swarm decks. A defender +3 companion can block four minions which will allow your fellowship to survive one more round.

Weak Versus...[edit]

wounding decks. Even though Aragorn can soak up four wounds, when he's wounded he can't exert to become defender +X. Keep him healthy and use him quick.
