Strategy[edit]

Threat of the Unknown is rarely played, despite its superficially useful appearance. It's a cycling card in a Shadow Alignment culture that already has very strong cycling tools, and often plays 1 vitality minions that can't be exerted. It competes directly with Goblin Scimitar (1C180) , which also draws cards while helping swarms of minions pose a threat to middling-strength companions. Plus, most Moria decks play their Scimitars over and over again, using tools like Goblin Scavengers (1C179) and Relics of Moria (1R195) , and uses them to generate Twilight with multiple copies of Goblin Armory (1R173) , while each copy of this card is only useful once.

It's slightly more useful in Moria Archery and Moria Beatdown, as those decks have more minions with 2+ vitality, but those decks rarely have enough room for this card.
