Strategy[edit]
The arrows flew from everywhere. Then they stopped!
For the Ringwraiths, the archery has always been a problem. Gondor Bowmen and Faramir's bow didn't help. Ther twilight cost is so high that playing more then 2 or 3 minions on each site is hard and you only have 4-6 vitality to soak up 6-8 archery. To the archery problem add the new Gandalf, The White Wizard, the left over twilight you couldn't use for your big minions becomes strength to an already powerful companion.
This is where Wreathed in Shadow comes to play. This card allows you to clean up the twilight pool in the archery phase, just before the skirmishing begins. Even if you are not taking 8 archery, you can empty the pool or leave just enough to play your own events. Remember that if you bring something to -1, or even -8, it is brought back to 0 when the final calculations are done.
Once again, you should consider many factors in using Wreathed in Shadow, such as you local metagame or your own shadow cycle. If you are in an archery or Gandalf, The White Wizard, environment, this card is a must in your deck. If you play skirmish events that require twilight, you might want to replace this condition for an event that simply prevents 1 wound like All Blades Perish.
The Ringwraith have the best ways of dealing with many different Free People strategies. Many cards like Wreathed in Shadow have multiple purposes and their strength and vitality will often force your opponent to stop at every site.
