Deluxe Starter Sets
Deluxe Starter Sets were released by Decipher alongside standard starter decks for The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers sets. Each Deluxe Starter Set provided a way for players to kick start their collection of the core sets for the first 2 blocks by including a deck, tokens, a deluxe rule book, and a booster pack inside a sturdy cardboard box suitable for storing cards and decks.
All Deluxe Starter Sets retailed for $20 USD and contained the following:
- 60 Fixed Cards
- 3 Random Rare Cards
- 11 Card Booster Pack
- Rulebook(s)
- Collector's Card List
- Collectible Storage Box (1 of 3)
- 6 Coloured Glass Player Markers
- 25 Black and 10 Red Glass Tokens

Variants[edit]
Each Deluxe Starter Set came in 1 of 3 kinds, each one based around the symbol and colors of a particular Culture. For FOTR the variants were 
Shire, 
Gandalf, and 
Sauron, and for TTT they were 
Rohan, 
Elven, and 
Isengard. The packaging for each set revealed the coloring on the sides, which meant that one could make an informed choice about which set to purchase.
