Strategy[edit]
The ability of this version of Pippin is fairly weak, at most it removes 4 twilight in a given game of Fellowship Block, which is something that Aragorn, HttWC or Sting could do in a couple of sites. Note that this ability cannot be used in conjunction with The Prancing Pony or A Wizard is Never Late, as it is an action in its own right, which makes it even less useful. Can help out choke decks, but overall this version of Pippin is not very useful, and is not seen often.
Strengths and Weaknesses[edit]
Strong Versus...[edit]
- Expensive Shadow sides
Weak Versus...[edit]
- Medium to High strength minions
- Cheap minions
Rulings[edit]
- As Pippin's ability is a phase action, it cannot be used in conjunction with The Prancing Pony or similar cards which also have a phase action, because phase actions cannot be combined. This means you can only play Aragorn or Gandalf at twilight cost -2 if they are in your hand and you play them naturally. It also cannot be used when playing starting fellowship members.
