Strategy

This ring-bearing version of Boromir is very effective when coupled with Faramir, Prince of Ithilien (13C66), Aragorn, Strider (11R54), and Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith (10R28) within a Noble Leaders (7R112) deck.

His ability to discard each minion he is skirmishing each time he wins a skirmish is also very useful. This is complemented with the various Strength-boosting cards available specifically to Boromir and the wider Gondor Culture, such as Blade of Gondor (1R95), Bow of Minas Tirith (11U58), or Swordarm of the White Tower (1C116), to name a few. Cards that grant defensive bonuses such as Armor (1C92), Armor of the Citadel (11U55), or Coat of Mail (1C101) can also be used to make Boromir a tank and soak up damage without dying.

However, the drawback of ring-bearing Boromir is the requirement to either add 3 burdens or 2 wounds. Having The One Ring, Answer To All Riddles (4R1) helps out with the latter, and even allows for the increasing of Boromir's strength value. The One Ring, The Ring of Rings (11R1) is also a good ring choice as it can be used alongside other Gondor cards such as Scroll of Isildur (9R36) or Elendil, High-King of Gondor (13R65) to bolster Boromir's resistance and help with burden-taking.
