'''Nasty, Foul Hobbitses''' is a middling-weak card, usually used as part of a {{C|Gollum}} splash in a [[corruption]] deck, along with cards like {{Card|Gollum, Mad Thing}}, {{Card|Gollum, Stinker}}, {{Card|Heavy Burden}}, and {{Card|Trap is Sprung}}.


In a vacuum, about on par with {{Card|It Wants To Be Found}} and {{Card|The Ring Is Mine!}}. However, winning skirmishes with [[Gollum]] is fairly resource-intensive due to his generally low strength, and this card will [[Hand Clog|clog up your hand]] until you do. To win skirmishes with Gollum, you'll generally need to invest in {{CultureIcon|Gollum}} [[pump]]s or a secondary strategy like stacking [[threat]]s, self-[[mill]]ing, or [[swarm]]ing minions. There are exceptions that can stand on their own, like {{Card|Gollum, Stinker}} and {{Card|Gollum, Old Villain}}, but even those aren't especially reliable. Every card you dedicate to pumping up Gollum or focusing on a secondary strategy isn't a card dedicated to adding burdens or supporting your main Shadow culture. {{Card|Heavy Burden}} is easier to trigger, since you only need a threat, 1 [[Twilight]], and Gollum still alive in the [[Regroup Phase]], but that card is still awfully situational. As a result, both cards are rarely played. {{Card|Wild Light of Madness}} is significantly stronger, but only available in later [[Format|formats]].
It's a weaker and more-situational card similar to {{Card|It Wants To Be Found}} and {{Card|The Ring Is Mine!}}. {{Card|Gollum, Mad Thing}} and {{Card|Gollum, Stinker}} can usually be counted on to stack up a few [[burden]]s over time, but they usually won't consistently win skirmishes until you're close to winning the game overall, either because burdens are stacked up very high, you're killing [[companion]]s with a combo of {{Card|Promise Keeping}} and either {{Card|They Stole It}} or {{Card|Not This Time!}}, or you've otherwise stacked many [[strength]] boosts on Gollum somehow. Of the {{C|Gollum}} burden tools, this is one of the least useful, and most likely to end up [[clog]]ging up your hand.

Nasty, Foul Hobbitses is a middling-weak card, usually used as part of a Gollum splash in a corruption deck, along with cards like Gollum, Mad Thing (10R21) , Gollum, Stinker (5R25) , Heavy Burden (7U60) , and Trap Is Sprung (13R57) .

It's a weaker and more-situational card similar to It Wants to be Found (2U78) and The Ring is Mine! (10U97) . Gollum, Mad Thing (10R21) and Gollum, Stinker (5R25) can usually be counted on to stack up a few burdens over time, but they usually won't consistently win skirmishes until you're close to winning the game overall, either because burdens are stacked up very high, you're killing companions with a combo of Promise Keeping (8R24) and either They Stole It (6R46) or Not This Time! (15R47) , or you've otherwise stacked many strength boosts on Gollum somehow. Of the Gollum burden tools, this is one of the least useful, and most likely to end up clogging up your hand.
