He often bears the Ranger keyword, giving you access to their tricks, and often is a great splash companion, the most obvious version for this purpose being Aragorn, Ranger of the North (1R89) . He also has access to cards like Aragorn’s Bow (1R90) that make him great in Direct Wounding decks, and Andúril, Flame of the West (7R79) in Expanded (Format) gives him site manipulation. All in all, he fits in most deck archetypes as a support companion, and has the potential to be the lynchpin of your deck.
