Strategy[edit]

Gameplay Strategy[edit]

War and Valor is a bread-and-butter skirmish pump released to support the new Gondor Rangers in the Two Towers Expansion. However, it has two distinct advantages over many of the similar events released in the first block--first, its optional effect includes a damage bonus, which helps to clear minions off the board. And second, that effect is powered by a game mechanic which the Gondor culture has a great deal of control over: making minions roaming. This can be accomplished by companions such as Gondorian Ranger (4C122) and Anborn, Skilled Huntsman (6C48) and conditions like Ancient Roads (6R49) and Second Level (7C118) .

A deck design which leans into making minions roaming can capitalize on a very big list of Gondor cards--but specifically, if one is using War and Valor to win skirmishes, then Swordsman of the Northern Kingdom (1C117) and Sword of Gondor (4C134) are worth further consideration.
