Skirmish Cancellation is an informal game term. It refers to the strategy of using cards to cancel and prevent skirmishes, rather than fighting minions. The first viable Skirmish Canceling strategy in Fellowship Block relied on Hobbit Intuition (1C296)
and Hobbit Stealth (1C298)
from sites 1-5, but had little else than Filibert Bolger, Wily Rascal (2C101)
for the remainder of the game. This was largely true until the release of Rise of Saruman with the new Pipeweed conditions. The deck combos with Halfling Leaf (17U106)
and Pippin, Brave Decoy (11R170)
to have Pippin cancel every skirmish. It may also include Aragorn, Ranger of the North (1R89)
or Aragorn, Heir to the Throne of Gondor (18R38)
to have your pipeweeds stretch longer. The deck also usually includes Ship of Smoke (18U27)
with some version of Gandalf, and may incorporate Grimbeorn, Beorning Chieftain (14R6)
and Beorning Axe (18R18)
