Strategy[edit]
Essentially The Two Towers' version of Sleep, Caradhras, Grown Suddenly Tall spots Gandalf and costs a notable [5] to discard every active condition - both the Free Peoples and each Shadow player are affected. Most advantageously, Grown Suddenly Tall does not require an exertion and can be used when Gandalf is exhausted. Because of the number of cards that do exert Gandalf, choosing this event over Sleep, Caradhras can free up his vitality to utilize other cards or simply be prepared to lose a skirmish. As with any spell, Gandalf's Staff will reduce its twilight cost by [1].
Strengths and Weaknesses[edit]
Strong Versus...[edit]
- Condition-heavy Shadow sides
- More accessible for Gandalf, Mithrandir
Weak Versus...[edit]
- Beatdown decks such as Nazgul which tend to lack the twilight to play as many cards as the shadow player has
- A fellowship which needs conditions itself
- Deceit and Siege Engine, which will often negate its effect on the Shadow player almost entirely
Rulings[edit]
- Active conditions are all Free Peoples conditions in play from the current Free Peoples player and all Shadow conditions in play from all current Shadow players. Neither the Free Peoples' Shadow cards nor the Shadow Players' Free Peoples cards are affected.
