Strategy[edit]
A generic and simple Orc, Goblin Bowman is a [2] twilight archer minion. A natural fit in a Moria archery deck, Goblin Bowman lacks vitality and even has a lower strength than the typical [Moria] Orc. The minion can gain a +2 strength bonus by the presence of Archer Commander, making Goblin Bowman borderline competitive with a hand weapon.
The similar Goblin Marksman (strength 7, twilight cost 3) was released in the Fellowship of the Ring base set, alongside Goblin Archer. Archer Commander and Moria Archery Troop accompany Goblin Bowman in the Mines of Moria expansion.
Strengths and Weaknesses[edit]
Strong Versus...[edit]
- Small Fellowships
- Weak-to-average strength companions
Weak Versus...[edit]
- Mithril-Coat, Shield possessions, and other archery-reducing Free Peoples cards
- Directed pre-skirmish wounding
