Strategy
The Gondor card in Rise of Saruman's cycle of Throne cards, Throne of Minas Tirith is a very powerful card. To begin, it is an artifact. Artifacts are much harder for Shadow players to discard that conditions, and Gondor Artifacts all help make Scroll of Isildur (9R36) and Narsil, Blade of the Faithful (9R+34) give their full bonus. Throne of Minas Tirith's low spotting requirement means that it's almost as easy to play as Sapling of the White Tree (9R35) , and has two powerful abilities on top of that.
Throne of Minas Tirith's first ability is the strongest, making the entire Gondor Tokens strategy more effective. However, Gondor is fairly short on natural damage bonuses. To counteract this, you can play Gondorian Sword (7U98) , Andúril, Flame of the West (7R79) , Andúril, Sword That Was Broken (17R27) , Narsil, Forged by Telchar (17R31) , Noble Leaders (7R112) , and Kings’ Legacy (13U72) to name a few. The throne also triggers when Boromir, Bearer of Council (9R+31) discards a minion. Also neccesary for both the throne's abilities are a horde of Gondor token conditions, such as Noble Leaders (7R112) (which also helps the throne), Heirs of Gondor (13C69) , Storied Homestead (13R76) , The Faithful Stone (18R50) , and Garrison of Osgiliath (6C52) .
Once you have these tokens, the throne also can use them. Throne of Minas Tirith is a strong silver bullet against strategies like Corsairs and Dunland Site Control, as it can toss the boats and Hides (4R19) . To fuel this three-token cost arises The Faithful Stone (18R50) , which rapidly generates tokens against both these strategies and others. Also Soldier's Cache (18U58) can rapidly replenish your store of tokens, especially when paired with a move to Mithlond (18U136) or Neekerbreekers’ Bog (11S249) .
