General Strategy

Basic [sauron] tracker, Orc Ambusher will rarely win skirmishes, and, with the [sauron] culture roaming for so long, isn't very cheap for the first half of the game. It is however, quite useful for playing spot/exertion support cards such as Under the Watching Eye or Hate. If the opponent floods the twilight pool, then it is possible to play a couple of copies of this or similar minions to negate the roaming penalty for remaining minions, and thus get a large force out. Finally, this minion is sometimes seen in decks for recall at Tol Brandir, as it will be very cheap by that stage of the game and can help overwhelm the Ring-Bearer. Its second ability is rarely useful, as it needs this minion to survive unwounded to the Regroup phase (Which is unlikely), and even then it's quite possible that the Free Peoples player will not have any Regroup Events - even if they did, they might simply opt not to play them, as they can see the Orc Ambusher's ability anyway.
