Set 6, Ents of Fangorn (or EOF) is the second expansion of the Two Towers block, and the fifth set overall. It was released on July 2, 2003.

Themes and Mechanics
Set Details
EOF continued introducing cards to support the strategies and cultures from TTT and BOHD, but also broke new ground in a number of small ways. Wraiths (not Ringwraiths) were introduced to the Sauron culture, as were Trolls.  Neither of those first attempts ended up more than novelties, but later in King Block the Sauron Troll Swarm would being to be a thing of terror.

Ents of Fangorn is the second expansion of the Two Towers block, and the fifth set overall. It was released on July 2, 2003. The table below describes the distribution of cards in booster packs; it does not include the two starter-only characters, nor the alternate-image rares included in starter decks..

This set introduced three new cultures: Dunland [Dunland], Raider [Raider], and Rohan [Rohan]. It was also the first set to contain zero cards from already-established cultures: Moria [Moria], Ringwraith [Ringwraith], and Sauron [Sauron].

Because the Two Towers introduced a completely new site path, the set included some sites very similar to sites previously released in the Fellowship of the Ring block in order to enable the same strategies.

* Valley of Saruman (similar gametext to Anduin Confluence)

Notable Cards
* Faramir, Ithilien Ranger
* The Witch-king, Deathless Lord (the first starter-only Shadow card)

Ents completed their arc, and for the first time had companions released that were not hampered by the Unhasty keyword.

The Balrog also makes his final Movie Block appearance, in a form that is no longer required to be played Underground.

This set continues the experiment begun in Battle of Helm's Deep, where the 3 random Rare cards that normally came in a Starter Deck are replaced with fixed Alternate Image "rares" which thematically suited the deck.  This was the last set that followed this pattern, and with The Return of the King random rares would be restored to the starter decks once more.
