Aragorn, Wingfoot, like his fellow orc-hunters {{Card|Gimli, Lockbearer}} and {{Card|Legolas, Dauntless Hunter}}, has an ability which spots unbound hobbits in order to provide a bonus to the Fellowship. Aragorn's ability synergizes particularly well with the "disappearing hobbits" strategy employed by {{Card|Merry, Learned Guide}} and {{Card|Pippin, Woolly-footed Rascal}}: Merry and Pippin can troll your opponent's strongest minions (through their own game text, with {{Card|Escape}}, and with various stealth events like {{Card|Swiftly and Softly}} and {{Card|Warmed Up A Bit}}); Aragorn can bully a weak minion during the skirmish phase (preferably armed with {{Card|Ranger's Sword}}); and then in the regroup phase, with your hobbits brought back to full number by {{Card|Knocked on the Head}}, Aragorn can directly wound the stronger minions who have remained. Regroup phase wounding can be amplified by {{Card|Old Noser}}, who can be included in the starting fellowship with relative ease. Β

Your opponent can skip around the regroup phase wounding by choosing to hold off on playing minions until (and unless) you've moved on to a second site in a given turn. But of course, this has its own drawbacks for your opponent. If you choose to move on, you still have all of your stealth events in hand, and a Merry and Pippin who haven't yet had to put in the work of disappearing. If you choose not to move on, your opponent might just be left with a hand full of unused shadow cards.
