Strategy
A simple strength pump, Noble Intentions trades a companion exertion for a strength +3 bonus to a Hobbit. Noticeably, another Hobbit cannot be the character to exert for the strength bonus. Unlike the other conditional strength bonuses available to hobbits, Noble Intentions is not a stealth card, so it cannot be cancelled by cards like Seeking It Always or Wariness. Even still, Noble Intentions is less versatile and less common that Hobbit Intuition, particularly after Fellowship Block where the latter is a standard strength +3 bonus.
Boromir, Son of Denethor has the Noble Intentions game text, a trend similar to the other Boromir from that set (Boromir, Lord of Gondor shares the text of Coat of Mail).
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strong Versus...
- A nice surprise to keep the Ring-Bearer alive, particularly before the advent of alternate ring-bearers
Weak Versus...
- Wounding Shadow strategies or exhausted companions
- Naturally weak in decks with few cultures besides [Shire] (or when companions of other cultures are already in the dead pile)
