====== Fear (1R212) Wiki ======

===== General Strategy =====

While somewhat situational, Fear can be a real difference maker against a number of Free Peoples strategies. The ability to discard an ally during the maneuver phase can leave the Free Peoples player without a necessary character, such as Filibert Bolger, Wily Rascal [a particular bane of Nazgul archetypes] or a potentially Frodo-saving Bounder. Fear can also hamstring the Horn of Boromir strategy, discarding an !ally hearkened to battle by the !possession.

Characters such as Elrond, Lord of Rivendell or Galadriel, Lady of Light may be played in multiple copies; discarding a single copy may force the opponent to play another copy later for beneficial twilight later in the game.

===== Strengths and Weaknesses =====

=== Strong Versus... ===

  * Allies, including multiple versions of Elrond, Galadriel, and Bilbo
  * Thrarin, Dwarven Smith
  * Shire allies, particularly Bounder and Filibert Bolger, Wily Rascal
  * The Horn of Boromir

=== Weak Versus... ===

  * Decks without allies
  * Maneuver Wounding
