Aragorn, Wingfoot, like his fellow orc-hunters {{Card|Gimli, Lockbearer}} and {{Card|Legolas, Dauntless Hunter}}, has an ability which spots unbound hobbits in order to provide a bonus to the Fellowship. Aragorn's ability synergizes particularly well with the "disappearing hobbits" strategy employed by {{Card|Merry, Learned Guide}} and {{Card|Pippin, Woolly-footed Rascal}}: Merry and Pippin can troll your opponent's strongest minions (through their own game text, with {{Card|Escape}}, and with various stealth events like {{Card|Swiftly and Softly}} and {{Card|Warmed Up A Bit}}); Aragorn can bully a weak minion during the skirmish phase (preferably armed with {{Card|Ranger's Sword}}); and then in the regroup phase, with your hobbits brought back to full number by {{Card|Knocked on the Head}}, Aragorn can directly wound the stronger minions who have remained. Regroup phase wounding can be amplified by {{Card|Old Noser}}, who can be included in the starting fellowship with relative ease.

Your opponent can skip around the regroup phase wounding by choosing to hold off on playing minions until (and unless) you've moved on to a second site in a given turn. But of course, this has its own drawbacks for your opponent. If you choose to move on, you still have all of your stealth events in hand, and a Merry and Pippin who haven't yet had to put in the work of disappearing. If you choose not to move on, your opponent might just be left with a hand full of unused shadow cards.
