Alatar Deceived, along with Pallando Deceived and Radagast Deceived make up the three wizard conditions of Bloodlines. Alatar Deceived usually only fights in fierce skirmishes due to the text triggering after the Assignment phase, though his innate damage + 1 bonus helps to make up for this.  Combined with Throne of Isengard or Men Will Fall, Alatar Deceived makes for a deadly minion.

If this card becomes a minion during a normal skirmish phase, it will not be assigned until the fierce assignment phase, and so will only participate in fierce skirmishes. If this card becomes a minion during a fierce skirmish phase, it will never get a chance to be assigned.
