General Strategy
Wildly overpowered before its errata, Thror's Map is a common addition to many decks with strong Hobbit support. With the ability to dodge some of the most difficult sites (such as Anduin Confluence or Brown Lands in Fellowship Block) that may be strategy-crippling, or play a helpful site to your own strategy, Thror's Map is one of the earliest examples of site manipulation in the game. Thror's Map is most commonly seen in the "Hobbit Hospital" strategy, though it can also see Fellowship block play in any deck that relies heavily on allies. A fringe card in Towers Standard (where Get On and Get Away is available), Thror's Map has use in Dauntless Hunter free peoples that do not make use of Pathfinder.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strong Versus...
- Alongside Pathfinder, Thror's Map is the best form of free peoples site manipulation in Fellowship block
- As a (0) cost support area possession, Thror's Map will not clog the Free Peoples' player's hand like Pathfinder might
Weak Versus...
- Possession discard, though as a support area possession it is considerably safer than played on a companion
