There are many good {{C|Elven}} skirmish [[event]]s. This is not one of them.

'''Arrow and Blade''' is so expensive and so weak that it would only be useful if you had some good reason to want [[wound]]s on {{C|Elven}} companions, but no such reason exists. Its only function is to protect a non-{{C|Elven}} [[companion]] in a deck where most of the companions are [[Elf|elves]], but since it doesn't work on the [[ring-bearer]] and has such a high cost, it's almost certainly better to use a card in that character's [[culture]]. When it comes to protecting your elves, this card is strictly eclipsed by {{Card|Supporting Fire}}, which also wants a [[Fellowship]] full of elves but does not exert them. Many other superior alternatives exist: depending on the [[format]], these include {{Card|Defiance}}, {{Card|Feathered}}, {{Card|Valor}}, {{Card|Forearmed}}, {{Card|Still Needed}}, {{Card|Fleet-Footed}}, {{Card|Attunement}}, {{Card|Final Shot}}, and even the rarely-played {{Card|Flashing Steel}} and {{Card|Uncertain Paths}}. While there are decks like [[Telepathy]] and [[Elvents]] that play many {{C|Elven}} skirmish events, they still don't play Arrow and Blade.

* This is technically a {{C|Elven}} [[event]], so it benefits or benefits from the core cards of [[Elvents]] and [[Telepathy]], like {{Card|Cirdan, the Shipwright}}, {{Card|Galadriel, Lady Redeemed}}, {{Card|Elladan, Son of Elrond}}, {{Card|Elrohir, Son of Elrond}}, {{Card|Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor}}, and {{Card|Galadriel's Silver Ewer}}. However, this card is so expensive and weak that it is rarely played, even in those decks.
* If you somehow wanted to make this card work, you would need a great deal of healing from cards like {{Card|Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad}}, {{Card|Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood}}, {{Card|Shadow Between}}, and {{Card|Nenya, Ring of Adamant}}.
