General Strategy
In a culture that lacks damage bonuses and fierce minions, particularly in Fellowship Block, Enheartened Foe can be an unpleasant surprise for a free peoples player. Working best with the largest[Sauron] minions, like Morgul Hunter or Orc Pillager, Enheartened Foe is a staple in an Orc Banner deck, sending an even stronger minion back in a fierce skirmish. With Desperate Defense of the Ring potentially adding burdens, a strength 10 to 12 minion is often enough to overwhelm a companion unlucky enough to run into Enduring Evil.[Sauron] minions did not get damage bonuses until set 8[Olog-Hai of Mordor] and received better fierce support in set 7[Gorgoroth Pillager, Legions of Morgul]; however, Enheartened Foe still has its place outside of the most common metas of Fellowship Block and Towers Standard format.
