In the Fellowship block there were 3 Merrys (and 3 Pippins) to go round. In The Two Towers Merry and Pippin are taken captive by orcs and dragged into the forrest of Fangorn to get away they must use some dissapearing acts of their own to hide. [[Merry, Learned Guide (4C310)|Merry, Learned Guide]] was the basics. Exerting the Ring-bearer to discard Merry may seem absolutely terrible at first. But when you combine it with healing such as [[Sam's Pack (4R317)|Sam's Pack]] and some Hobbit catching such as [[Treebeard, Earthborn (4R103)|Treebeard, Earthborn]] you can pretty consistently get him onto Treebeard and up into the fellowship again. | |||

Fellowship Block
In the Fellowship block there were 3 Merrys (and 3 Pippins) to go round. Merry, Horticulturalist ) was praticaly useless unless (for some reason) you really wanted Farmer Maggot. Merry, From O'er the Brandywine was a lot better. With a sword he had Gandalf strength skirmishing capabilities as well as some skirmish cancelling.

Merry, Impatient Hobbit also does some discarding but in the regroup phase instead.
