Like most skirmish events, Supporting Fire gives a generic +2 strength bonus with a conditional increased bonus. Though the increased bonus is only +3, it is the only Elven skirmish event in [[Movie Block]] where the full bonus depends only on the Free People's deck. This makes its use very clear-cut: it is very popular in Elf-heavy fellowships regardless of what the underlying strategy of that fellowship is, and very unpopular in decks with only a few key Elf companions.

== Deckbuilding Strategy ==
In a fellowship with 4 or more Elf companions this is typically the skirmish event to prioritize first. {{Card|Defiance}} is a great choice in a meta where you expect to see a lot of Nazgul and may subtract from the number of Supporting Fire used, but in Movie block very few Elf decks won't use any copies of this card at all.

In decks with 2 or fewer Elf companions this card is worse than any alternative since it will never give a greater strength bonus than other events, but may sometimes give less. Decks with exactly 3 Elf companions will have to weigh how quickly all 3 companions will typically be played (and how likely they all are to survive) to determine whether this event is worthwhile.
