Decipher ran multiple "radio free" series as a (mostly) weekly audio show distributed on their website.  [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYLMRQ0b_feBmwx60mQf1kO7fv09DfnrE A master playlist of all such content can be found on YouTube here]

== History ==
'''Radio Free Decipher''' (often abbreviated to '''RFD''') was a podcast ran by Decipher, before the term "podcast" actually existed (as it predated the release of the Apple iPod).  It ran from 1998 to 2004 and consisted of somewhere around 200 episodes.  It covered various topics relating to the games made by Decipher, from design tidbits to interviews to spoilers to DecipherCon coverage.

'''Radio Free Decipher''' (often abbreviated to '''RFD''') was a podcast ran by Decipher, before the term "podcast" actually existed (as it predated the release of the Apple iPod).  It ran from 1998 to 2004 and consisted of 196 episodes.  It covered various topics relating to the games made by Decipher, from design tidbits to interviews to spoilers to DecipherCon coverage.

Originally hosted by Carol Wisely (VP of Marketing), after episode 30 the regular guests Kyle Heuer and Evan Lorentz took over hosting duties.

Unfortunately, the majority of the show has been lost to time.  The Wayback Machine's archive managed to grab about 75 episodes<ref>Wayback: [http://web.archive.org/web/20080509090404/http://www.decipher.com/rfd/archives/index.html Decipher RFD Archive]</ref>, 16 of which weren't listed on Decipher's own archive (all in 2004).  In addition, many of the files are truncated due to a technical issue that has existed since almost the entire lifetime of the podcast, as posted on their [http://web.archive.org/web/20080511223849/http://www.decipher.com/rfd/factsandtips/index.html main info page for RFD]:

TECH NOTE:

Some listeners have problems with streaming Real Audio. The most common problem is that the stream stops abruptly, though the "radio controls" on your computer desktop indicate the file continues to play.

  Until we can determine its causes, our solution is to give you alternate access to RFD that lets you bypass the problem by downloading audio files directly to your system. Choose the link below and handle these files as you do others that you download. File sizes range from 1.75-3.0 MB.

Following the final episode of RFD on 30 April 2004 (which coincidentally announced and discussed the WARS TCG with Decipher VP Tim Ellington), the resources for RFD were re-routed into a more focused podcast which focused on showcasing the WARS TCG (rather than all active Decipher properties)This series ran for 24 episodes from 25 June 2004 to 21 January 2005, and was primarily hosted by Mark Tuttle (PR and Marketing Manager).

The recording and production quality were noticibly better (partially due to the move to MP3 instead of RealAudio).

The original archive can be found here: http://web.archive.org/web/20050207162310/http://warstcg.fanhq.com/Articles/Article.aspx?ID=329

This truncation means that 31 of the files taken from the Wayback are cut off at exactly 1MB, or 8:43 of runtime. It's unknown exactly how much runtime this means was lost, as other untruncated episodes range from a legitimate 8 minutes all the way up to 30 or more.

With the end of DWR, one final attempt to create a podcast series began in March 2005, although it only lasted 4 episodes, 2 of which are lost to timeMark Tuttle continued hosting, following a more general format that mimicked the earlier RFD topic spread.
The below table shows the status and description of each episode and, where possible, a link to the YouTube rehost of the salvaged audio filesThe full YouTube playlist [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYLMRQ0b_feAbpbNVQwlw3y8XH30ZQS1U can be found here].

== Episode Coverage ==
If you have any saved audio files from this time period that you do not see here, please do not hesitate to [https://lotrtcgpc.net/discord contact the PC wiki team]!
The Wayback Machine's archive managed to grab about 75 episodes<ref>Wayback: [http://web.archive.org/web/20080509090404/http://www.decipher.com/rfd/archives/index.html Decipher RFD Archive]</ref>, but fortunately Evan Lorentz himself had the majority of the RFD show squirreled away in digital archives.

As of time of writing, all but 10 episodes are accounted for in full (7 missing RFD, 1 missing DWR, 2 missing DGR).  If you have an archive of Decipher files from pre-2006, please give a search for the files in the below table (*.ram files are more or less useless if you find those instead). The missing episodes are as follows:
