[[{{ROOTPAGENAME}}]] is a {{C|Gandalf}} [[Companion]] from the [[Promotional]] set.  It was distributed as a prize for players who participated in digital leagues for the [[Lord of the Rings Online TCG]] in February 2005.<ref>Wayback: [http://web.archive.org/web/20050314204045/http://lotronline.decipher.com/newsletters/2005_02_04.html Get the Gandalf, Stormcrow physical promo card!]</ref>  The card is itself a cut-down version of the much more elaborate [[Customizable League Card]] used in the online client, representing a version of the card with 1 point invested into its customization (out of 28).  Due to the relatively low popularity of signups for those leagues, the card remains one of the rarest in the game; its high price is purely due to that rarity, as the gameplay appeal is rock bottom.

With zero game text and +1 strength over base, there's no reason to ever bother with this version of Gandalf.  If additional strength is what you want, use {{Card|Mithrandir}} or {{Card|The White Wizard}} or {{Card|Defender of the West}} or {{Card|Leader of the Company}} or....

= General Strategy =
 
A largely worthless version of Gandalf that unfortunately uses one of the better subtitles for that character.  It attempts to balance the +1 strength increase over a base Gandalf with absolutely no game text whatsoever.  If you need a stronger Gandalf, use Defender of the West, Friend of the Shirefolk, or Mithrandir, depending on your Fellowship composition.  Or just pack Glamdring.
