Dunlending Madman is an inexpensive minion whose middling strength makes him quick work for the Fellowship's main fighters. However, when played alongside more threatening minions such as {{Card|Hillman Tribe}} or {{Card|Dunlending Pillager}} the Free Peoples is often forced to assign him to support characters who have no hopes of winning. With the boost to 9 strength in the fierce skirmish, he can now appropriately challenge the stronger companions and, perhaps with a little help from {{Card|Burn Every Village}} or spare vitality from {{Card|Saruman, Rabble-rouser}}, put two wounds on the Fellowship at minimal cost.

Note that while it may be tempting to beef him up with {{Card|Iron Axe}} for a 10/12 strength minion, for the same twilight you could put {{Card|War Club}} on {{Card|Dunlending Robber}} for an 11/13 strength minion with the ability to discard items.
