This can shut off the game text of {{Card|Denethor, Steward of the City}} or {{Card|Denethor, On the Edge of Madness}}, but there's little reason to play those two companions in the first place. Even if you found a use for their special abilities despite their crippling drawbacks, this sword shuts those abilities off. On any other companion{{--}}especially other versions of [[Denethor]]!{{--}}this is strictly worse than generic {{C|Gondor}} [[hand weapon]]s like {{Card|Sword of Gondor}}, {{Card|Knight's Spear}}, {{Card|Gondorian Sword}}, {{Card|Gondorian Blade}}, or {{Card|Ithilien Blade}}.
