Decipher released Deluxe Starter Sets alongside standard starter decks in The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers sets. Each Deluxe Starter Set provided a way for players to kick start their collection of the core sets for the first 2 blocks by including a deck, tokens, a cardlist, a deluxe rule book, and a booster pack inside a sturdy cardboard box suitable for storing cards and decks.
The Fellowship of the Ring Deluxe Starter Set[1]
The The Fellowship of the Ring Deluxe Starter Set includes its own 60-card fixed deck FOTR Deluxe Starter Decklist that features the four Hobbits and Nazgûl from the Ringwraith Shadow culture. This deck also has its own 60-card fixed component (that's three different 60-card fixed decks total). All the cards in this deck are also available in regular booster packs (there are no premium cards in the deluxe starter). In addition to this deck, the box contains:
- 3 random rares
- A standard 11-card The Fellowship of the Ring booster pack
- An illustrated collector's card list of The Fellowship of the Ring set
- Glass Tokens - 15 black glass tokens to keep track of the twilight pool total, 6 different colored tokens for your fellowship's player marker on the adventure path, and 10 red tokens for all the wounds you'll take on your adventure
The boxes were packaged in a colorful deck storage box (Gandalf, Shire, and Sauron box designs available). They were sold for circa $20.00 USD each.
