There are two different ''standard'' [[Starter Deck]] products: [[Starter Decks/Fellowship Block#FOTR Aragorn Starter Deck|FOTR Aragorn Starter Deck]] featuring Aragorn, and [[Starter Decks/Fellowship Block#FOTR Gandalf Starter Deck|FOTR Gandalf Starter Deck]] featuring Gandalf. You'll see a picture of Aragorn or Gandalf on the front of the tuck box of it's starter.

Each starter deck has a fixed component of 60 cards, including:

* 1 Frodo companion card,
* 1 The One Ring card,
* 9 site cards,
* 2 copies of a special premium card, and
* 47 mixed common and uncommon cards.
* The special premium cards, found only in these starter deck products, feature the main companion for that starter (Aragorn or Gandalf).

Along with a fixed component (which is made up of different cards for the two different decks), 3 random rare cards are added to each starter. That's designed to help sealed deck play be a lot more interesting.

There's a rulebook in the box too, which tells you how to play a shortened, 7-site game with your starter deck. That's because the regular 9-site game uses a draw deck of 60 cards, and your starter deck has a draw deck of only about 52 cards (Frodo, The One Ring, and the 9 sites aren't part of your draw deck). We provide a complete set of 9 sites so that when you get some more cards to make a standard 60-card draw deck, you'll be ready for your first tournament.

The Starter Deck Display box comes with six of each ''normal'' starter deck for a total of 12 starter decks.

== German Version of the War of the Ring Anthology ==
German Tengwar cards for the first three Anthology sets were exactly the same as all other languages--namely, the same as the English version (there wasn't much point after all in re-transcribing a language that, realistically, practically no-one could read). However, the German War of the Ring Anthology are in fact transcribed in German, unique to all non-English language tengwar cards.

The German Tengwar cards are noticeably more amateur than the hand-written ones made by Daniel Reeve. The mode used doesn't appear to follow any known Tengwar mode, meaning that the authors likely just assigned letters to tengwar at random. There is also a curious combination of vowels-as-glyphs and vowels-as-diacritic, possibly indicating that diacritics were used as direct translations of German diacritics. On top of this, the lore font appears to have some missing letters, meaning that at times it will default to the game text font's letters, causing a jarring formatting switch partway through words.

Seeing as these cards were only "discovered" to exist in 2020, it's unknown whether any other overseas printers produced their own versions as well.

These 18 cards, hand-lettered by noted New Zealand artist Daniel Reeve, are sure to be a collector's delight. Reeve, the official calligrapher and cartographer of The Lord of the Rings movies, has beautifully rendered the same Tengwar symbols used in the films and seen on such works as the inscription on The One Ring and the pages of {{Card|The Book of Mazarbul}}.

In addition to the 18 Tengwar cards, the Tower Anthology will contain one The Two Towers 63-card starter deck (randomly chosen from Aragorn and Théoden), six 11-card [[Towers Block]] [[Booster Pack]]s (two each of [[The Two Towers]], [[Battle of Helm's Deep]] , and [[Ents of Fangorn]]), one 29-card [[Towers Draft Pack]], and a booklet with a comprehensive card list of the three sets and English text for the Tengwar cards. All will be contained in a sturdy collector's card box with a capacity of over 600 cards.
